Frankly, picking any of the subs below is a guaranteed winner.  The biggest limitation comes from your ride. I’ve sorted through all the offers and only picked the very best 3 that Sundown has to offer.

On my list, there are only the most popular sizes from 8” to 12”, and I’ve picked regular and enclosed subs for convenience.

#1 Sundown Audio SA-12 D4 REV.3  12 inch Subwoofer – Best Sundown Subwoofer

And we have a WINNER!

I don’t know what Sundown did with this sub, but it’s unique. Besides the superior build quality, it actually made my eyes water when I went overboard with the gain.

I couldn’t believe how powerful this sub was, so I pit it against high-end speakers. Guess what? Sundown destroyed them all. Now, this is what I call a winner.

I’ve mentioned that I played around with the gain, and there was no distortion what so ever I’m afraid to say this, and it’s almost perfect.

A friend of mine ordered two of these and returned the second one because it was too loud.

To get the best performance out of this raging bull, get a 2 cubic foot box at 33hz. That’s it, and also a decent amp to deliver the needed 750 Watts RMS for this 12” sub. Side note this baby can take 1000 Watts like a champ.

Here is the reason why it’s the top pick on my list:

• It sounds like a beast: This sub is loud, and it hits hard and clean exactly what the doctor ordered
• Other 12” brands are not a competition: This sub can take on and destroy other woofers with ease. It’s in a league of its own
• It handles the lows like a champ: As a matter of fact, I managed to flex the roof with the right lows

I have found a few drawbacks you have to see:

You will need a decent amp to get this sub humming the right way. Once you get that installed, OMG, the sound will be out of this world.

It’s a power-hungry sub. There’s no denying that. 750 Watts RMS is no joke, and it’s worth it all too well.

I have had quite a few installs for this sub, like in a BMW 328, Torus and Senata, and I believe the owners became lifelong customers for Sundown Audio.

Look at those magnets. They are the biggest ones I’ve seen in a 10-inch sub. Since they are this big, you have to be gentle with the break-in period. After being this patient, the woofer comes truly alive.

From all the recent sub installs I’ve done, this is by far the best value for the money. The bass hits clean and hard, just like I loved it in my past bass head life. This sub is only 10”, and it’s a hungry one requiring 750 Watts RMS. I was too scared to push the gain above 50%.

As you know, customer service can make or break a company, and Sundown is top of the line. No matter your issue, the staff is knowledgeable, and they are on your side.

There are a few drawbacks that I would like to mention:

For being “just” a 10” sub, you need a lot of power to get the most out of it 750 Watts RMS, so make sure you get a good amp. It’s well worth the investment.

It’s one of the hardest hitting 10 inch subwoofer.

This puppy isn’t cheap, so make sure you have enough money in the piggy bank. For this bass, every penny is worth it.

I had quite a few takes for this sub, and I’ve installed it in: Volvo S60, BMW 3 series, Dodge Ram and Honda Accord. The look on the owner’s face while driving away was priceless.

However, there’s a catch. It’s quite a popular sub, so it’s flying off the shelves. You need to move quickly if you want to enjoy some phenomenal bass.

If you want some great bass without breaking the bank, this is the perfect sub for you. Be ready to supply some watts, and you can enjoy some great thump-thump.

When I was testing it out, I went overboard and fed this baby 700 watts, screaming for more. A friend of mine went to the extreme and gave 1200 watts, and it didn’t burn out.

This sub is perfect for all types of music. After installing it, you will have a well-rounded system.

Here are the top reasons why it’s a must-buy:

• You need to own it to understand: the bass is out of this world. You have to live it and feel it.
• Affordable thump-thump: it hits hard without hurting your wallet
• Build to last: I have one of these babies installed for more than 2 years, and they are pounding as I installed them yesterday

There are a few drawbacks that I would like to mention:

Can you handle the power? Well, more likely, can you deliver the power needed because it requires 500 Watts RMS. This means you need to install a quality amp, and that’s worth it.

No stickers, what a bummer. I didn’t get anything for bragging rights.

I had a few installs for this sub, and the most important ones were for a Silverado and Kia Optima. The owners were all too happy with their new system.
