#1 Rockford Fosgate P300-10 – Hardest Hitting 10 Inch Subwoofer

We have a WINNER!hardest hitting 10 inch subwoofer

This sub has way more bass than you will ever need. If you don’t want to disturb the peace too much, you have to keep the gain low. I love this 10-inch sub because everything is included in the box. Plus, the amp is rated at 300 Watts RMS.

Everything comes already assembled. All you have to do is plug it in and enjoy your new and amazing sounding system.

Let me share the punch with you. It will blow you away. I wasn’t kidding when I said that you have to keep the gain low. What you’re getting is a clean and accurate punch. There are no distortions with this sub. Best of all, it’s easy on the budget.

This is why it’s at the top of my list:

  • Punch Series is NOT Hype: Even though it’s a 10-inch sub, it hits hard. Best of all, it’s not ghetto nose-tingling bass.
  • The Full Package: This sub has everything you need, from the subwoofer enclosure to the amp and grille.
  • Plug and Play Install: There’s no guesswork, no guessing, no frying anything. Just plug in a few cables, and you’re all set.

The few drawbacks that I’ve encountered:

The Velcro mounting isn’t that secure. After a while, it wasn’t even holding it down, so every time I accelerated or braked, it would fall over. It’s pretty tricky to get it right.

Come on, Rockford, you can do better than that… The remote is very, very cheesy. Plus, it’s on the cheap side.

This subwoofer is part of the punch series, and boy, it delivers! No wonder I made quite a few installs, like in a Tundra, Ford Ranger, Silverado, Mazda 3, Ford F-150, and a Jeep Wrangler.

But since it’s so popular and everybody is buying it, don’t be surprised if it’s out of stock most days. If you’re lucky and see one, grab it or you risk waiting for a long time. There’s no time to waste, jump on it.

If you want something a bit cheaper, then check out #2 below.

Pros
  • Way more bass than you will ever need without being a nose tingling ghetto subwoofer.
  • It’s easy on the budget yet delivers a clean and accurate punch.
  • This sub comes with everything you will ever need: box, sub, amp, and grille.
Cons
  • The Velcro doesn’t do justice to this subwoofer. You will need something serious to hold it down.
  • The included remote is way too cheesy for my taste.

#2 Kicker 44DCWC102 – Best 10 Inch Competition Subwoofer

best dual 10 inch subwoofer

If you’re looking for a subwoofer that has great power and don’t want to spend a fortune on competition-level subs, you just found what you were looking for. This Kicker sub has two 10” subwoofers and is rated at 300 Watts RMS.

It’s above the entry-level, so you’re getting rich and powerful bass without having to overpay for competition-grade subwoofers.

Warning: You will be able to rattle the neighbor’s windows with this! It’s the perfect tool to disturb the peace. Since it’s an enclosed sub, it’s super easy to install. It’s pretty much plug-and-play.

Here’s why it’s a must-buy:

  • If you plan to disturb the peace… this is a good and affordable sub to get you started.
  • Perfect Mids and Lows: The bass sounds rich and great; I couldn’t ask for more.
  • Bang for Your Buck: For this price, it’s a steal. You’re getting two subs fully enclosed. It’s budget-friendly.

A few drawbacks that you have to know about:

There are no grilles included with the package, and the options are limited. This means you have to be extra careful regarding the way you put things in the trunk.

Since it’s a double subwoofer, it will take up a lot of space, and it’s heavy. Well, sacrifices have to be made for some good bass.

I had a few takers for this sub, and they were all grinning ear to ear when they drove off. The vehicles I’ve worked on include a Cadillac, Honda Civic, and Jeep Liberty, to name a few.

The last time I checked, the stocks were low for this Kicker subwoofer. So, if you want to avoid waiting weeks on end for the new shipment to come in, grab it while it is still available.

Pros
  • If you want a nice strong bass that occasionally disturbs the neighbors, this is it.
  • This sub is perfect if you want to hit the mids and lows accurately.
  • It’s easy to install. There’s no guesswork needed.
Cons
  • In my opinion, it’s a bit muddy at high volume, and it doesn’t have that punch.
  • There are not enough grill options for this sub.

#3 Rockville RWS10CA – Best Under-Seat 10 Inch Subwoofer

best under seat 10 inch subwoofer

This shallow mount sub is a real keeper. People love it so much that they can’t stop talking about it, and many of my friends choose this one because everybody has it.

This Rockville sub has a slim fit design of 10” and is rated at 300 Watts RMS. I love the bass because it’s high quality and it hits hard. Best of all, you won’t get fined because people won’t hear you coming from a few blocks away.

It fills out the lows perfectly and thumps the seats as it should. Best of all, you’re getting this great bass for cheap. This is ideal for those who have no space in their cars or are on a budget.

Here’s why it’s a must-buy:

  • Hard-hitting bass: You will love the sound without sharing it with the world, so that you won’t be heard from two blocks away.
  • Super easy installation: You’re getting the full package, so there’s no guesswork. You just need to run a few wires here and there.
  • Great value: You’re getting the whole package for such a low price it’s a real steal.

A few drawbacks that you have to know about:

There’s an initial smell that is worth waiting out. It will be gone by the time it’s broken in.

A few people reported that the sub is also cutting out. This happens when the amp overheats, so make sure you have a cooling fan installed.

This slim sub is hot, and people are buying it like crazy. I’ve installed it in so many vehicles that I lost track of how many. Here’s a list of those I remember: a GMC Sierra, 911 Porsche, Silverado, Sprinter Van, Wrangler JL, Lightning, Fusion, Sentra, and Nissan Versa Note.

Since they are so popular due to their size, there’s a shortage going on. So if you happen to be lucky and find one in stock, grab it while it’s there or you risk waiting for many weeks.

Pros
  • Thumps the seats like a real sub should
  • A lot of bass for a little bit of money
  • If you’re missing the lows, this is the best sub to fix it
Cons
  • There’s a burn off smell initially, which will fade over time
  • The subtends to cut out when the amp overheats. Use a cooling fan.

#4 Skar Audio Sdr-1X10D2 – Loudest 10 Inch subwoofer

loundest 10 inch subwooferWarning! We have a sleeper over here. I can’t believe that it’s just a 10” sub. I mean, it hits so hard and beautiful that you will wonder how you could live without it for so long.

This bundle is rated at 600 Watts RMS. That’s a lot of power. More than enough for a powerful, punchy performance. You need to be ready to handle it. If you don’t have a 320A alternator, you will have to upgrade, plus getting a capacitor is a good idea, so the battery isn’t taxed too heavily.

I was curious how good is this sub and pitted against two 12 inch Kickers to make it fair. Skar won by a landslide.

It’s a perfect sub bundle. It has everything you will need, plus the killer looks and hard-hitting bass. Can you ask for more?

Here’s why it’s a must-buy:

  • Punches hard and deep: The bass is super strong, exactly what the doctor ordered.
  • Bass on a budget: This bundle is a great money saver. You get the full package without any guesswork.
  • Kicker killer: I’ve put this subhead to head with two 12” Kickers. Skar was a winner by a landslide.

A few drawbacks that you have to know about:

This is for the big boys, no questions about that. Make sure you have a 320A alternator, or it won’t work.

Also, many people have complained about flickering headlights to lighten the load on the battery you will have to put a capacitor in.

It seems that many people have found out about this sleeper sub. I have a long list of happy customers bumping to it. I’ve installed it in: 325 BMW, Honda Accord, Mini Countryman, Jeep Wrangler, Mustand and S10 pickup, to name a few.

The last time I’ve checked, there were hardly any left in stock. So you need to take action now or risk waiting for weeks on end for the new shipment to arrive. Don’t let anyone beat you to it.

Pros
  • The bass is so good that it can compete with the other two 12” subs
  • The insane price you can’t get better quality than this one
  • It’s ideal for small cars because of the short profile and minimum space requirements
Cons
  • You might need to invest in a 320A alternator to fuel the greed
  • If you have dimming lights, you will need a capacitor

#5 Alpine SWT-S10 – Best 10 Inch subwoofer for Deep Bass

best 10 inch subwoofer for deep bassThat’s one hell of a looker. There’s a lot more going on than the looks. This Alpine is a 10 inch sub that is rated at 250 Watts RMS.

It was designed for trucks, and it will work with smaller cars as well. The installation is a breeze because all you have to do is plug it in and play your music. Best of all, it’s easy to remove if you need the space.

Compared to shallow mount subwoofers, these outperform them big time. The bass you get is plenty without being overpowering. The sound quality is top-notch, so you will enjoy your new sounding system.

Here’s why it’s a must-buy:

  • Plug and Play: It’s so easy to install that it only takes a few minutes of your time. You don’t need to be an expert to get it right.
  • Cheap way to sneak in some bass: These subs are super affordable, and you can enjoy some good bass without breaking the bank.
  • Beats shallow mount subs: It has been tested repeatedly that these tube-shaped subs outperform standard shallow mounts. They sound a lot better.

A few drawbacks that you have to know about:

I miss the grille protection on this sub. It comes in handy because accidents happen. Either way, you can pick on up for $20 or so.

The straps are cheap and won’t hold it down properly. The bazooka tube design isn’t helping either. You need to be creative to fix it in place.

It’s a good sub, and I’ve installed it in a few vehicles such as Dodge Challenger, Toyota Matrix, Silverado, and a Ford F-150, and the owners were all too happy with their new system.

Subwoofer season is in full swing, so don’t be surprised if it will be out of stock. These tube-shaped subs are selling like hotcakes. If you’re lucky, you will be able to get one, and you have to move fast. Get it before the stocks run out.

Pros
  • If you have a truck, you just found the perfect sub
  • The bass is plenty without being overpowering
  • It’s so easy to install that you can do it within 2 minutes now. That’s why I call plug and play.
Cons
  • I miss the grill protection
  • The straps feel cheap, and they don’t hold it down properly.

What’s better 2 10 inch subs or 1 12 inch sub?

Two 10 inch subs will hit harder than one 12 inch sub. Two 10’s will be more balanced and accurate across the spectrum. This is because bass frequencies are heard over larger areas than higher tones which only come from the smaller tweeter. A 12″ sub will go lower in pitch, but not as low as two 10″ subs.
