Britax Frontier Review – Saved lives in a Real Crash

The SUV was stopped at the lights with two kids in the back. Then another SUV slammed into it…

Accidents are unpredictable. The only thing to do is prepare in advance and then brace for impact. The equipment will do its job to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Look:

This has happened with some friends of ours. They just stopped at the red light when out of nowhere, another SUV rear-ended them at 50 mph. The crash was extremely loud. Metal deformed. Glass shattered.

The things inside the SUV turned into projectiles. And it got worse. My friend’s SUV was pushed 20 feet.

Finally, it has slammed into another SUV and stopped. Airbags deployed. My friend’s SUV and the rear SUB got totaled. There were two kids in the car strapped into their Britax car seats. They were 5 and 7-year-olds.

They walked away from the accident without harm. They were scared but had no injuries what so ever.

There was a guardian angel that looked out for them.  They have no questions on which will be the replacement seats.

Before we get any further, let me give you a quick preview. This car seat is ideal for serving your toddler child until they don’t need a car seat anymore. You can do extended harness until 90 pounds. The booster seat is limited to 120 pounds. These are huge numbers

Thanks to the Clicktight tech, it’s super easy to install. There’s no strap manual rethreading ever. It comes with two layers of side protection. It has the reclined option if the kids fall asleep.

Let’s get this Britax Frontier review started. If you stick with me until the end, I will tell you the pros/cons. Some of them are unexpected, to say the least.

Who is the Britax Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Car Seat?

This car seat is for parents who are thinking ahead. This car seat is designed to accommodate toddlers and older children.

Plus, with the help of the 5-point harness, you can keep your kids safe until they reach 120 pounds.

What can the Britax Frontier car seat do for you?

Thanks to the steel frame and the entire safety feature, my friend’s kids got away without a scratch from that accident. No wonder Britax has such high safety ratings.

The Britax Frontier has two modes forward-facing harness mode and booster seat. The weight limits are the highest amongst all the car seats. The limits are 90 pounds for the harness mode and 120 for the booster mode.

There’s enough room to grow. From toddler age until they get their driver’s license, this car seat will serve them well.

The seat comes with two built in cup holders. These are perfect for keeping drinks in one and toys in the second one. Also, it’s a good distraction while you’re strapping your little one in.

If your child falls asleep, there’s the recline option to make it as comfortable as possible. The quality is top-notch. No wonder it’s made in the USA.

Here’s one of the biggest selling points in this car seat. The expiration date is nine years. So you will be getting a lot of mileage. It can serve even two kids.

Britax Frontier shortcomings

Every car seat has flaws. I feel that it’s my civic duty to share it with you. If you know that in advance, you will get the full picture. Let’s see how bad these flaws are.

Britax is not known to make the cheapest seats. On the other hand, they are known for their excellent safety. This is a pricey car seat, so you will have to have a budget. It’s worth every penny.

The cleaning is quite difficult. The good news is that you can be the material, so it’s not limited to spot cleaning. Here’s the bad news you will have to completely disassemble to get the material off. The installation is quite fast, so no biggie there. They could’ve designed a better fabric removal sequence.

As you probably guessed, this car seat is heavy. This is the case with most two in one solution. The steel frame will keep you, child, safe. So most parents don’t mind it. Once installed, it won’t be moved.

The padding seems to be a bit on the thin part.

Last but not least, I want to mention that some parents reported that it’s hard to install. Here’s my theory of why it’s so. It comes down in your car. If it’s compatible with Britax Frontier, then it will be easy to install. If not, it will be difficult.

So these would be the negatives. Are they a deal-breaker for you?

How To Get The Most Out Of Britax Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Car Seat?

When you get the car seat, you will have to decide where you will mount it. The safest spot is in the middle. For some, this is not good, so here’s the second safest place which is behind the driver.

Once that decision, you have to get it installed. The Clicktight tech is so good that you can’t get it wrong. For some, the car seat isn’t compatible with their car, so there’s more elbow grease needed. If you want to be on the safe side, do ask for a second opinion. The best person for the job is a licensed professional.

Pros:

It keeps your kids safe even in a horrible accident

Thanks to the ClickThight tech it will be the easiest car seat to install

It grows with your kiddo up to 120 pounds

Cons:

It’s a pricey car seat you will need a budget

Cleaning is not that easy you need to completely disassemble the car seat

Conclusion for the Britax Frontier Review

As you have seen in the beginning, this Britax Frontier does the job. It will keep your kids safe no matter what. No wonder it has such high safety ratings. This car seat is for toddlers and upwards. And if you want to keep your child secure with the 5-point harness, you can do it for many years to come.

This car seat has flaws. Take those into consideration when you’re buying. There’s ample room to grow, and the expiration date is nine years.
