Britax Midpoint Review – Is this the perfect car seat?

It has happened to my brother. He has two kids. Ever since they got this new Britax car seat, the kids are fighting over it. They got to the point of setting up a schedule.

But you know how kids are. There’s no way around it. My brother has to buy a second one only if we knew what’s so special about it.

When we hear the Britax brand, the first thing that pops in our mind is safety and reliability. It doesn’t disappoint.

Let’s get this Britax Midpoint review started. If you stick with me until the end, I will tell you the pros/cons. Some of them are unexpected, to say the least.

This car seat is for parents who what the most protection possible for their child. If you are bored of the same old, same old car seats this is a fresh one.

What can the Britax Midpoint car seat do for you?

First of all, this car seat is forward-facing only, and it’s for kids who weigh 40 to 120 pounds. So this is for older kids.

It’s a cool design, and they went overboard with the side protection. The whole body is in safety when they climb in the seat. Most car seats only protect the head, and with Britax, the torso and the pelvic area will be safe as well.

The material is so soft, and it’s comfy to sit in because of all the padding. The material is a bit sci-fi to me. First of all, it dries your child, so moisture doesn’t accumulate. Secondly, the design allows cooling down their body without excessive AC.

Let me tell you about the belt system. This is one of a kind. The Britax Midpoint comes with a lap belt guide.

This car seat is lightweight, thus easy to move. It’s so easy to adjust; it comes with ten different positions.

What I personally loved about this seat is that thanks to the adjustments, there’s no more slouching or sliding down, adding to the comfort.

It’s one of those rare car seats that stay in place while they are empty. We had a couple of car seats that were acting strangely when there was no passenger in them. Last but not least, I want to mention that it comes with two cup holders. It’s great to keep drinks in one and toys in the other one.

The price is half than other seats which offer fewer features.

Britax Midpoint shortcomings

I tried, and I tried, but I could barely find something wrong with it. This car seat is as close to perfection as you can get. It’s my civic duty to share with you the flaws of this car seat. By knowing them, you get the full picture, and you won’t get any unwanted surprises.

This car seat is for older kids. No matter how old a child you put into this seat, there will find a way to stain it. The middle row is light gray. No matter how small the stain is, you’ll be able to tell.

This leads to the second issue. The fabric is not removable. Well, this is the case with most car seats that target this age range. The only solution for keeping it tidy is to spot clean it. To my surprise, it was quite is to wipe off the debris.

If you’re a regular reader of my reviews, you probably feel let down. Well, I feel that way too. So Britax did an excellent job with this car seat. These are the only issues that I’ve found with this car seat.

How To Get The Most Out Of Britax Midpoint Belt-Positioning Booster Seat?

The first thing for you to do is to install it correctly. I have to repeat this quite often. The statistics show that 75% of all car seats are mounted incorrectly. Luckily it’s not the case with Britax Midpoint. It’s so easy to install that you can’t get it wrong.

Secondly, you have to place your child in the safest zone in the car. This is in the middle. Now, if that’s not possible for whatever reason, the second-best place is behind the driver.

Once it was clicked into a place, you’re all set. If you want to be on the safe side, you can ask for the opinion of a licensed professional.

Adjusting is that easy plus many different size kids can sit in it comfortably.

It still bothers me that I’ve only managed to find two minor issues with this car seat. Well, it is what it is. Out of curiosity, I’ve tried the car seat. I’m just a bit over the weight limit. You pull out the vehicle seat belt and feed it through the shoulder belt guide.
