#1 thing that I love about this Kenwood stereo is that it can play YouTube. I mean, this is a godsend for those who have kids.

All you need to do is play a cartoon, and it’s all quiet in the car. I don’t know how other parents do it on road trips.

The display is amazing. Plus, you can customize the button colors. I mean, you‘re not stuck with eye-straining blue light. You can change it to anything to your liking.

Customization doesn’t stop at the button colors. For example, the background can be changed to your favorite wallpaper.

As I mentioned before, you can pair iPhones and other Apple products. Siri Eye comes handy when you are talking or texting while on the road.

Android Auto is available, and for both devices, you need to plug them in. Look at the bright side. The phone is charged while they are connected. With this head unit you can enjoy both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

I just love the graphical EQ. I have to admit I’m a bit of a music nut. I love to customize each and every bar to get the perfect pitch. This stereo doesn’t disappoint. Thanks to the graphical interface, it’s so easy to adjust the Equalizer. The high-resolution audio is out of this world.

Well, this is the part that many reviewers skip. Is it by accident or by design?

You’ll be the judge.

The Kenwood DMX7705S is not the perfect stereo. It has flaws. Let’s see if it’s a deal-breaker for you. If it is, then checked out the alternatives section. Maybe that will be to your liking.

The unit comes advertised that it supports Waze. This is, sadly, false. Kenwood has its own private integration, and it doesn’t work. The main problem is that it lags. And it lags a lot. Secondly no audio is coming through. Hopefully, in the future, this will be fixed.

It doesn’t have an HD radio. So you have to enjoy the standard quality.

The touch screen seems to lag a bit as well. It’s responsive, but it seems slow.

Another big issue is the glare. I mean, if the sun hits it at the right angle, you can’t see anything. This gets worse if you are trying to navigate on a map. Sadly it can’t be fixed by tilting. This unit doesn’t have that option.

Every time you turn on the device, there’s an annoying disclaimer screen popping up. I wonder if it can be turned off. I would love to do that.

If you’re planning to install it by yourself, get ready to spend at least 2 hours. It takes this much time, even with the help of YouTube tutorial videos.

How To Get The Most Out Of It Kenwood DMX7705S?

As you have read earlier, it takes a fair amount of time to install it. I can’t recommend this enough, use a professional installer.

It’s well worth the money. Plus, you are not wasting nerves on it.

This unit supports two video inputs. This means you can connect two cameras (camera input). If you don’t want to run “miles” of wires from the back, then let the pros handle it.

Rear view camera (backup camera) helps you to park safely and efficiently. Plus, you can mount a dash cam, so you are protected from lawsuits.

The music quality is unbeatable at this price. It’s great to have such a companion on the daily commute. Don’t forget if you are stuck with anything there’s customer service to help you.

Now if you want some extra info then I highly recommend the iDatalink Maestro. Besides getting access to your steering wheel controls you will get car info as well. By connecting the iDatalink Maestro you can see real time tire pressure, voltage and other car stats. If you are considering the iDatalink Maestro then go to a pro installer. It will save you a lot of time.

Now I understand that this Kenwood DMX7705S stereo is not for everyone. This is why I try to find a suitable choice.

There’s a newer version out. This is the Kenwood DMX7706S. It seems that they have ironed out some kinks though you lose the CD/DVD playback.

As for the price, it’s the same. Literally, the difference is in pennies.
