Evenflo Symphony Review – Affordable all in one car seat in 2024?Symphony Elite All-in-One Car Seat Review

Should you buy a seat for every stage or choose the all in one option?

The opinions are mixed. Some prefer to buy a new car seat for every stage, and others prefer lifers. There’s no right or wrong answer, only preference.

Look:

Getting an all in one car seat has a lot of benefits. First of all the car seat which grows with your child will be cheaper than getting 3-4 other car seats. Secondly, each of those seats has a different installation procedure.

Even if you get the easiest one to install at first, it will be difficult. With practice, you will get the hang of it.

Now I prefer to get the most mileage out these seats. As you know, they all come with an expiration date. So there’s no reason for me to buy an infant car seat with a ten-year expiration date if I don’t have any kids. On the other hand ten-year expiration with an all in one car seat sound a great bang for the buck.

Initially, when the first all in once car seats appeared, they weren’t that comfortable for the little ones. This has changed a lot in recent years. Now they have become as perfect as they can be.

Before we get any further, let me give you a quick preview. It’s called the ultimate all in one seat. It can protect a 5-pound newborn up to 110 pounds. This car seat has three functions: rear, front, and booster seat mode.

They made sure that the car seat is wiggle free. With the ratchet technology, you can get the tightest fit possible. To ensure safety, there’s a 5 point harness and side-impact protection.

Let’s get this Evenflo Symphony review started. If you stick with me until the end, I will tell you the pros/cons. Some of them are unexpected, to say the least.

This car seat if for parents who invest in the long run. By doing so, they are saving money.

This car seat is perfect from infancy to pre-teen age. It’s affordable, and you can get a lot of mileage out of it.

What can the Evenflo Symphony car seat do for you?

This car seat is affordable. Plus, if you factor in that this is a lifer, you will be saving money big time. Usually, Evenflo car seats are super cheap. It’s not the case with this all in one. Yet it’s worth every penny.

It has a lot of cushions, which provides great comfort on long trips. The material is soft and plush, and it doesn’t overheat, not even in the summer. So your little one will love this seat.

The fabric is removable and easy to clean. It’s washing machine friendly, so no matter the stain, it will be like new after the wash.

This car seat can be used in three different stages. You will start with infancy in the rear-facing mode. Then as your little one grows, they will graduate to front-facing. And finally, they will reach the booster seat mode.

It doesn’t scream low budget, and it looks good.

Evenflo Symphony shortcomings

Every car seat has flaws. Let’s see if the Evenflo Symphony has some deal-breakers. I will be upfront with you. There are only a few things wrong with this seat. And one is so bad that I let it have it.

Being an all in one car seat means that you shouldn’t expect a light seat. It’s heavy and bulky. Once you get it installed, you won’t have the motivation to get it out and put it into another car. I know there’s the latch system, which makes it easy. But no, I rather ordered a second one then to fiddle with it again.

The second issue is with the cup holders. Now it’s a minor one, but it managed to drive me crazy. Simply said, they messed up the design real bad. They are insanely shallow. Only some small sissy cups fit in there.

If you put a bigger one in preparation for this to happen, every time you make a turn, remind your kids that they have to hold their cups. If you happen to miss, it will be falling over. This has happened so many times. I would rather remove that cup holder and add a clip-on.

The last issue is with the rear-facing mode. There isn’t sufficient recline. This means that if your little one falls asleep, her head will flop. In most cases, it’s not a problem, but it’s uncomfortable to watch.

Well, these were the negatives of this Evenflo car seat. Can we continue?

How To Get The Most Out Of Evenflo Symphony Elite All-In-One Convertible Car Seat?

Depending on the age of your little one, you can choose rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster seat mode. After this choice, you need to see where you will mount it. The safest place is in the middle of the car. For some, this is not doing so choose the second safest, which is behind the driver.

The next step is to get it installed. The latch system with the ratchet makes it easy to get it tight. Remember, it should move less than an inch. If you want to be on the safe side, you can always ask a licensed professional.

Once you get used to the latch system, you will never look back.
