It’s extremely hard when you not only compare writing the same brand but the same model as well. Since it was a special request, I’ve done it.

Safety
What I like about Evenflo is that they went the extra mile. I mean every car seat has to pass the government tests. And Evenflo was tested for double government requirements, and it passed with flying colors.
The frame is the same for both car seats. The frame is steel reinforced to provide the maximum safety possible.
SIP stands for side impact protection. The human body wasn’t designed to handle a side impact. So every layer counts.
Last but not least, it comes with the 5-point harness, which is the safest on the market. Slowly it’s becoming the industry standard.
Size Limits
Both car seats cater to the same audience. From newborns up to young adults, these two car seats can keep them safe.
The Evenflo Symphony Elite and the DLX have three functions. They can be mounted as rear-facing, front-facing, and in booster mode.
The lowest weight limit is set at 5 pounds. You will be able to take your newborn home from the hospital. The upper limit is set to 110 pounds or 57”. You can do extended rear facing up to 40 pounds your little one will be safe for a long time. These car seats give great mileage for the money.
Installation
Here we go. Finally, I found the difference between the two.
The Evenflo Symphony Elite comes with the SureLatch system. This is one of the niftiest ideas I’ve ever seen. What you do is connect the latches. Make sure you hear the two clicks and then press the button.
Whole!!! the car seat is tightened automatically. You are no more warming up before tightening the straps. No more sweating and cursing when you see that the seat is still wiggling too much.
With one press of a button, everything is done for you.
With the Evenflo Symphony Elite DLX, we don’t have this option. You have to insert the latches and pull on the strap.
Fabric/Material
The material is the same for both car seats. It’s easy to remove and easy to wash. Major plus from me that it’s washing machine friendly.
They recommend washing it with cold water. Plus, the seat pad can be dried in low heat in 10-15 minutes.
It seems that they have thought of everything.
The real difference
In case you’ve missed it here it is. The main difference is that the Evenflo Symphony Elite has a self-tightening latch while the Evenflo Symphony Elite DLX is manual tightening only.
This was a tough cookie to crack. And here it is. The self-tightening option is a great idea. It will make it easy for grandparents to use the car seat (take a look at the best rated car seats for grandparents). But it’s not just for them anybody who wants to make sure that the install is right every time can benefit from it.
Of course, there are some cosmetic changes between the two. Also, there are different color combinations.
