Cybex Car seat Reviews – The ultimate high-tech car seat?

Did you know there are smart car seats on the market?

Let me present to you the car seat that won the most awards ever. This sounded like a hype teleshopping ad. To tell you the truth, it’s the highest decorated car seat plus it’s smart.

I wouldn’t have guessed that somebody will come up with a smart car seat. And here’s the Cybex Sirona. The smart function will tell you if the seat is too hot or too cold. Also, it will alert you if you’re little one has unbuckled the belt behind your back. And also it will remind you if you forgot about your child and they are still in the car.

I know I was laughing too, and then I remembered an incident. Well, it was the parents had left the child in the rest stop, not in the car. Or there was another incident where the husband left the wife there by accident. It would be easy to pass judgment and we shouldn’t

Look:

With all the things going on, we are distracted. So under deadline pressure and stress, no wonder we forget trivial things like our wife at a gas station. At least he realized it after 50 miles or so.

This is where a smart car seat can help you remember things.

Before we get any further, let me give you a quick preview. This car seat is for the first few years of life. From infancy up to 4 years old. It’s one of the safest car seats I’ve seen. It has an energy-absorbing shell to protect your little one. For the best comfort, you can choose from 10 reclining positions.

One pull and the latch is removed. Last but not least, I have to mention the magnets that secure the buckles. It’s the first of its kind. I love every part of it.

Let’s get this Cybex Sirona review started. If you stick with me until the end, I will tell you the pros/cons. Some of them are unexpected.

Who is the Cybex Sirona Car Seat?

This car seat is the first smart car seat on the market. It’s for those parents who live in extreme climates and what to know if their seat is too cold or too hot.

Also it lets you know if your crafty little one has undone his harness.

What can the Cybex Sirona car seat do for you?

Let’s take this smart car seat for a spin. You’re probably thinking, why is it smart, and what can it do for you?

Let me share everything that I know. It has three features to choose from. The first one tells you the temperature in the car. If it’s too hot or cold, it will alert you, so you take care of your little one.

The second one tells you if your child was bored and unbuckled the straps. Now, normally this isn’t an issue if you use the front-facing mode. If you opt for the extended rear-facing mode, then you won’t be able to see. As you know, accidents happen, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.

The third alert comes to remind you that your child is still in the car with you.

Besides the smart features, you probably want to know what it can do for you. So let’s dig in.

I have found a feature that is the first. The outer shell has magnets in place, and you can put the buckles there. So no more searching left and right for them or fishing it out under your little one’s bum.

Best of all, it has silicone under the straps, so while adjusting, it won’t scratch your child’s neck. This car seat comes with a cup holder. Plus, the material is soft and comfy and easy to clean.

Cybex Sirona shortcomings

Every car seat has flaws. I feel that it’s my civic duty to share it with you. If not that it would be a pure hype pitch. By getting to know the drawbacks, you get the full picture. And you will know if this car seat is the best fit for you.

This car seat is heavy. Once you get it installed, you won’t feel the urge to swap it from one car to another. I know there are people out there who get their workout done like that. I leave that to the pros.

The fabric is great, and it has one problem. It’s not machine washable. So you will need some elbow grease to get it clean after an accident.

It’s cool that this car seat has sensors. It’s bad when they are not accurate. Parents complained that the sensor was going off even when the AC was blowing hard. On its defense, it was summer in the middle of the desert. There are some false positive alerts and nothing that can’t be fixed with an update.

Lastly, I want to mention that the chime and the alerts can be customized. If it happens to drive you nuts, there’s no workaround.

Now, these were the flaws of the Cybex car seat. Were they a deal-breaker? If not, let’s get to the next chapter.

How To Get The Most Out Of Cybex Sirona Car Seat?

First, you have to decide how you want to use it in front or rear-facing mode. Then the safest place to install it in the middle. Now for some, this is not possible, so at least go with the second safest spot which is behind the driver’s seat.

For the car seat to offer the best protection possible, it shouldn’t move after the mounting. If you have issues or want to be extra sure, then reach out to a licensed professional.

From all the selling points for me, the most appealing was the straps. You don’t have to manually rethread them ever. That saves a lot of time.

Pros:

Kids get bored in car seats, so they tend to unbuckle luckily there’s a sensor for that

It comes with a bubble to get the seat leveled as easy as possible

Magnets keep the straps in place

Cons:

The sensor isn’t that accurate there were false readings reported

Machine washing is not supported, hand wash only

Conclusion for the Cyebex Car seat Review

This was the first smart car seat. Most of the smart features are great, and one of them is silly, but hey, who knows. It has won multiple awards, and they were not for its looks. The main merit was on the safety features.

We have reached the end of the Cybex car seat review. If you feel that this is the right fit for you to take action now, the supplies won’t last for long.
