Chicco Fit2 Review – Does it deliver?

Chicco Fit2 Infant and Toddler Car Seat Review

It looks fancy, but what else does it offer?

According to a policeman friend of ours, there’s no such thing as a bad car seat, only an unused one. As you can imagine, he has seen his fair share of accidents.

This means that any car seat you buy today will keep your little one safe. If there were any problematic seats, they have been recalled by now though there’s a big problem with these seats nowadays.

They are not installed correctly. And it’s worse than you think. For every car seat that is installed correctly, four others aren’t. If the mounting isn’t perfect, then it can’t do its job. This is why it’s so important to get that seat as tight as possible.

There’s no significant difference between a cheap or an expensive car seat. Two things that might defer one would be the ease of use, and the other one would be the comfort level.

Cheap or expensive, they all protect the same way.

Let’s see what this Chicco has to offer. How does it compare to the rest?

Before we get any further, let me give you a quick preview. It’s a rear-facing car seat for infants and toddlers. It can be used up to two years old. It will protect your little one no matter what. It’s easy to level thanks to the leveling bubble.

It’s stroller-friendly so you can create your travel system. There’s no strap rethreading ever.

Let’s get this Chicco Fit2 review started. If you stick with me until the end, I will tell you the pros/cons. Some of them are unexpected, to say the least.

Who is the Chicco Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat?

This car seat is for parents who value rear-facing mode. And they want to keep their little one in rear-facing as long as possible.

Plus, it can be combined with a stroller for the perfect travel system.

What can the Chicco Fit2 car seat do for you?

This car seat is easy to install. No husband needed it. The latch system makes it a breeze. You don’t need a lot of force to get that tight fit. Finally, a car seat that I can install myself.

This Chicco Fit2 supports two development stages. It’s for infants and toddlers. As you know, rear-facing is the safest position so they can easily ride like that for up to two years. It would be nice if it allowed for four years.

This car seat is particularly friendly for grandparents. The easy-adjust it for multiple kids. Plus, it’s easy to put in and out kids.

This is compatible with most Chicco strollers so you can create your travel system. In case you have a different stroller, you can use an adapter for the fit.

The Chicco Fit2 is a car seat that sits high. The kids will be able to look left and right and will be less bored.

The material is like memory foam. Little ones fall asleep super-fast. Best of all, they don’t get overheated.

An infant carrier mode, it’s easy to detach, and you can take your little sleeping one wherever you go without waking them up.

The canopy is good; it almost covers the whole baby. The sun has to be at such a bad angle to bother your little one. It offers 90% protection.

Chicco Fit2 shortcomings

All car seats have flaws I didn’t come across the perfect one just yet. I keep hoping, though. So this is the most popular section of my reviews. I feel that it is important to cover the flaws because that will give you the full picture.

Also, you will not have to deal with unwanted surprises. So let’s see what’s wrong with the Chicco Fit2.

It is advertised as an extended rear-facing. Well, it’s not the case. You can do rear-facing up to two years old. There are countries in the EU that do it for four years. Now that’s why I call extended rear-facing. As you know, the safest position for your little one is in rear-facing mode.

This car seat is heavy. It will give you a decent workout when you’re hauling it from car to car. And if you have a heavy baby, wow life will get 10x harder.

There aren’t many issues with this car seat. I will have to mention one more thing, though.

The cleaning is limited. Don’t get me wrong; you can remove the fabric, which is good. The issue is that you can only use cold water and a gentle washing program. What about the harness? Well, that can’t be removed. You can use spot cleaning. Or a sponge and warm water and soap. What if there was a puking accident?

Then you’re on your own…

These are the main issues with the Fit2. I tried my best, and I couldn’t dig up more. So if you’re still with me, let’s go on to the next section.

How To Get The Most Out Of Chicco Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat?

Once your car seat arrives, you have to decide where you will install it. The safest place is in the middle of the car. Now for some, that’s not possible, so the second safest place is behind the driver.

After that’s done, you have to get the install right. Thanks to all the guides, you will be able to install it correctly. Remember this golden rule; the wiggle room should be less than an inch.

If you want to be extra safe, then you can always ask a certified professional for help.
