After spending the last few weeks in the library collecting dust-mites and pushing my dust allergy to the limit meanwhile I’ve looked up encyclopedias and old newspapers to find all cars and brands that start with the letter H.
I spare you the history lesson and instead I’ve done something cool. After scrolling down you will see some Expensive cars, followed by Sports cars and even a Muscle car that starts with the H initial.
Be prepared to be shocked and amazed by the price tag and power output of these beasts.

What You Need To Know About Car Brands That Start with H
Hafei was founded in 1980 and it’s based in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. Currently it’s owned by Chang’an Automobile Group. They focus on creating sedans, MPVs, mini vehicles and small trucks & vans.
Haima was founded in 1992 in Haikou, Hainan, China. It’s a joint venture between Hainan Local Municipality and Mazda Motors. This lasted until 2006 when FAW Group bought all Mazda shares. While the joint venture was going on they were creating and selling Mazda vehicles for the Chinese market.
Haval was launched in 2013 and it’s part of Great Wall Motors Chinese automaker. Haval focuses on creating SUVs.
Hawtai was founded in 2000 and it’s based in Beijing, China. They focus on creating sedans and SUVs.
Hennessey was founded in 1991 by John Hennessey and it’s based in Houston, United States. It’s a tuning company that focuses on the mechanical aspects of creating high-powered vehicles. They work with many major brands even Bentley’s.
Higer was founded in 1998 and it’s owned by King Long. They are based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. They are China’s leading bus and coach exporter.
Hillman was founded in 1907 by William Hillman and it was based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, England, United Kingdom. They were operational between 1907 and 1931. While in operations they were focusing on automobiles.
Hindustan Motors was founded in 1942 and it’s based in Kolkata, India. It used to be India’s largest car maker before being overthrown by Maruti Udyog.
Hino was founded in 1942 and it’s based in Hino-shi, Tokyo, Japan. Hino is owned by Toyota and they focus on creating trucks and buses for the Asian market.
HiPhi was founded in 2019 by Ding Lei and it’s based in Shanghai, China. They focus on creating electric cars. They are fast movers because after getting established they launched the HiPhi X in 2020 and deliveries started in May 2021.
Hispano-Suiza was founded in 1904 and it was founded by Emilio de la Cuadra and Marc Birkigt. While in operations they were making luxury vehicles and sports cars. In 1968 it became part of Safran Group.
Holden was founded in 1856 by James Alexander Holden and the automobile division was founded by Edward Holden. It’s based in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Holden is a subsidiary in Australia for GM. They sell locally made and imported GM vehicles.
Hommell was founded in 1990 by Michel Hommell and it was based in Lohéac, Ille-et-Vilaine, France. It was operational between 1990 and 2003 and they have created a sports car prototype.
Honda is one of the best-known car and motorcycle brands and it was founded in 1948 by Soichiro Honda, Takeo Fujisawa. It’s based in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It’s Japan’s second-largest automaker and it ranks in the top 10 globally.
Hongqi was founded in 1958 and it’s owned by the FAW Car Company. It’s based in Changchun, Jilin, China. Initially until 1981 it was an exclusive brand for state officials. This has changed and become a luxury brand.
Hongyan was founded in 2003 and it’s based in Chongqing, China. It’s a joint venture between Iveco and SAIC. They focus on creating trucks.
Horch was created in 1904 by August Horch and it was based in Zwickau, Saxony, Germany. This car brand is the predecessor of Audi. It was operational between 1904 and 1932 and then merged into Auto Union and eventually Audi.
Holden Special Vehicles
Holden Special Vehicles was founded in 1987 by Tom Walkinshaw and it’s based in Clayton, Victoria, Australia. The parent company is Holden. This sub-branch focuses on creating performance vehicles.
Hudson was founded in 1909 by Joseph L. Hudson and it was based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. While in operations between 1909 and 1954 they focused on creating cars that were less than $1,000. In 1954 they merged with ash-Kelvinator Corporation to form American Motors (AMC).
Hummer is a well-known brand made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger when driving the civilian variant of the military truck. It was founded in 1992 and it’s based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. GM bought Hummer in 1998 and released 3 versions of the Hummer.
Hupmobile was founded in 1909 and it was based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It was operational between 1909 and 1940. While in operations it was producing automobiles.
Hyundai is one of the world’s best-known car brands and it was founded in 1967 by Chung Ju-yung and it’s based in Seoul, South Korea. They produce all types of cars and even luxury to the market.
