Extreme Quality Mixed With Great Bass Without Breaking the Bank? Find the Best Rockville Subwoofer for Your Ride

Welcome to the Best RockVille Subwoofer Awards

After spending the last 11 days running wires, soldering, installing and testing while apologizing to my neighbors and sweet-talking myself out of a fine for disturbing the peace, I’m ready to reveal which is the best subwoofer from RockVille.

Look:

Finding the perfect subwoofer for your ride comes down to two things your vehicle and your budget. Now, as soon as you know these, it will be easy to find the perfect fit. If you never heard of RockVille, here’s a heads up they are the most budget-friendly brands that offer top quality and amazing bass.

I’m ranking these 6 subwoofers by power, bass, ease of install and price. To make it easy as possible to make a decision, there are two categories there are normal subs and enclosed ones. Also, I’ve picked the very best from the 8, 10 and 12-inch sizes.

I’ve been in the car audio world for more than 20 years, and I’ve seen it all, from the newest car to a 40-year-old rust bucket. I’ve upgraded systems, so the owners always drove away, grinning ear to ear. You can rest assured that no matter which one you pick from the lineup, you will have a winner on your side.

Let’s feel that bass already!

#1 Rockville RV12.2B – Best Rockville Subwoofer Overall

And we have a WINNER!

I was like; this must be a mistake. The price is unheard of in the woofer niche. It’s so insane that I had to look for the catch. To my surprise, there’s no catch, only ground-shaking bass. These two 12” subs are rated at 400 Watts RMS, so you can easily make your mirrors wobble.

This is the perfect revenge sub to annoy those pesky neighbors. If you crank it up, you can shake cars in a 50ft radius. Also, make sure you get easy access to the gain controller just in case the police show up.

Ladies, if you happen to be reading this review, here’s a hint: it’s the perfect gift for hubby on any occasion. He will enjoy great bass without breaking the bank, plus it’s easy to install is a hell of a surprise as well.

Here are the reasons why this sub got the top spot:

Great Bass on the Budget:  What you’re getting with this sub is impressive sound quality with real thump-thump without overspending

Beats Super Expensive Kickers: I did a face-off. Hands down, this Rockville can beat a Kicker sub which costs north of $1,000

Easy to Install: There’s everything included, so not much guesswork, plus there’s YouTube for help. In case you need the space, you can easily remove the sub.

Also, there are a few drawbacks that you should check out:

There’s no beating around the bush. These two 12” take up a lot of space. If you need desperately need the trunk space, you can easily remove this monster.

Depending on your vehicle, you have to take a look at the alternator. Some older cars can’t handle it to supply adequate amperage or upgrade your alternator.

It’s quite a popular sub since I’ve installed it in so many rides like: Toyota Corolla, F250, G35 Coupe, CR-V, Chevy Blazer, 2017 Sonic, Honda Accord, Civic and Trial Blazer, and they were all happy and smiling customers.

Since they are so popular, they have stock issues constantly, so if it’s available, grab it while you’re there.

Now, if you want something cheaper, then check out #2 on my list.

Pros:

The bass is so strong that it can be felt in a 50ft radius

The great bass package on a budget

Amazing thump-thump for every music type

Cons:

You will need high amperage to run it

It takes up a lot of space

#2 Rockville Punisher 12D2 – Best Rockville 12 Inch Sub

This is not a joke. This Punisher series really rocks. Heads up: apologize to your neighbors before you actually buy this subwoofer. This sub hits hard, and it can be felt from a distance. Do the apology first, so they don’t call the cops.

A friend of mine mounted this 12” 1400 Watts RMS sub in an SPL box. I haven’t felt anything like this before. My eyes were vibrating, and the rearview mirror was always crooked. It’s this powerful in the right box.

Make sure you give a very long and slow break-in period. This is the biggest magnet that I’ve seen in a sub, and you won’t mind waiting for the break-in period to end.

This inexpensive subwoofer can make many high-end brands jealous. It’s well built with quality components and delivers a monster of bass at an amazing price.

Here’s why it’s a must buy subwoofer:

Intense Incredible Bass: when this baby hits, it will hurt in a good way. If you enjoy nice flex and smooth transitions, this is your sub right here

Smoked 3 Kickers: 1 Rockville Sub vs 3 Kickers there’s no competition the Rockville has beaten it both in price and bass

Elite Sub and Money Saver: The price is just insane, it’s a steal, and you get so much with it. Damn, Rockville nailed this sub.

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:

I couldn’t let it go. They have thrown 5600 Watts on the top, and it’s just an eye-catcher. The sub wouldn’t reach that staggering amount. The real wattage is 1400 Watts RMS, and this is more than enough to feel the kicks.

It feels that the spring post terminals are cheap; luckily, they can be easily replaced if they die prematurely.

It seems that the word didn’t spread yet because I’ve installed this sub in F150, Tahoe and Chevy Malibu, to name a few. The owners were quite impressed with their new system.

Even if I haven’t installed it in many cars last time, I’ve checked there were only a few in stock left. So if you know that this is the one, jump on it before they run out.

Pros:

It’s the ultimate Kicker Sub Killer

Hard-hitting bass that will make the rearview mirror look crooked all the time

You have to own it to understand it

Cons:

The top wattage is overhyped

The spring post terminals look cheaply made

#3 Rockville RW8CA- Best Rockville – Best Rockville 8 Inch Under-seat Sub

This Rockville woofer has a lot going for it. It’s an 8” 150 Watts RMS sub, and it has a slim profile; it packs a punch and won’t bleed your pockets dry.

Did I miss anything?

Since it has a low profile, you can install it anywhere to find a bit of space. With this sub, you can nicely round out your music experience. As a matter of fact, it’s so good that you will notice that you will be finding any excuse just to drive around.

If you enjoy rich bass, you have just found the perfect sub for your ride. You can enjoy the loudness without being too loud. Also, I get a lot of headaches, and this sub didn’t trigger none. It’s a great little toy to have.

Here’s why it’s a must buy subwoofer:

Concert Feeling: Don’t underestimate the size of this sub. It noisy and boomy, and best of all, nothing can be detected outside of the windows are up, so no police

Excellent Bass on a Budget: It’s one of the best value subs you can get. The price is steel, and the bass is strong enough to rattle the panels.

It can be used as a massage tool: depending on where you’re installing it, you can get a decent back or butt massage while you’re driving

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:

The bass is ok it’s not window shattering one. Let’s be realistic. What can you expect from an 8” enclosed sub?

There’s a very strong blue light coming from this box, and it gets distracting in the night. This can be easily fixed by positioning it appropriately.

This little sub is one of the most popular ones I’ve ever installed. Thanks to its low profile, it fits perfectly in: Toyota Tundra, Nissan Sentra, Jeep JK Sport, Rubicon, Tacoma, S10 Pickup, Fiat 500, Honda Civic and BMW e46. It not just fits, but it fills the vehicle with the right amount of bass.

Since they are in such high demand, you might find them out of stock. If you want to enjoy some great bass and have limited space, don’t let yourself be beaten by others. Grab while they are still in stock.

Pros:

Low profile sub that is ideal for small cars or minimal space

Powerful and punchy bass as if you would be on a concert

Besides being a sub, it can be used as a great massager

Cons:

The bass isn’t that powerful

The blue light might be distracting during the night

#4 Rockville W8T4-S4 – Best Rockville 8 Inch Sub

Who would’ve thought that this little guy can deliver hard and deep bass? Don’t underestimate the size, though. This one really packs a punch. It’s rated at 250 Watts RMS, so it’s not too small.

For some, this sub will be overkill. It’s ideal for small cars because it doesn’t require a lot of space and it can fill the interior of many cars.

After tuning, you will get clean music without any muddiness whatsoever.

Here’s why it’s a must buy subwoofer:

Improves the Stock Stereo: this is the absolute best way to get more and better sound from cheap stock speakers

Handles all Music: no matter what kind of genre you’re listening to, it will sound a lot better after you’ve installed this baby

For Small Cars: since it’s just an 8” sub, you can squeeze it in just about anywhere

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:

The thing is that stock screw alignment won’t work with most cars, so make sure you have a drill at hand to make the necessary adjustments.

It’s just an 8” I keep hearing it over and over. Yes, that’s true, and you can’t have high expectations. On the other hand, it works great for the money.

This sub is so unique that I’ve only installed it in a few vehicles so far, like: Yukon, Tahoe and Subaru Crosstrek, and it did a bang of a job.

You need to hurry if you want to get this sub because last time I’ve checked, there were only a few in stock. If they happen to be out, make sure you check back on a later date.

Pros:

The perfect solution for small cars

Hard deep bass without muddiness

It makes cheap speakers sound more than decent

Cons:

Stock screws won’t work with every vehicle

More bass would’ve been nice

#5 Rockville RW10CA – Best Rockville 10 Inch Under-seat Sub

Boys, we have a sleeper amongst us. The first reaction I get after the install is this: OMG; I can’t believe it’s just a 10”. Yes, it’s indeed just a 10-inch sub which is rated at 600 Watts RMS.

And the looks wow, I can’t look away and so do many people who see this sub the first time. As you probably guessed, this sub has a shallow profile, and it’s ideal for smaller cars or those that don’t have a lot of spare space. Also, make sure you give it a good amount of break-in time to enjoy it to the full.

The batch is punchy and enjoyable. It’s a great way to round out your sound system because it delivers great sound quality.

Here’s why it’s a must buy subwoofer:

The Kicker Killer: This bad boy can officially beat two 12 inch Kicker subs with ease. As a bonus, it’s a lot more affordable than the kicker.

Budget Bass Package: the bass is simply amazing, and it won’t break the bank either

The WOW factor: if you don’t mind showing off, this sub is a looker. You will be in the center of attention wherever you go.

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:

This is a power-hungry beast. Make sure you have at least a 320 Amp Alternator, or you are in a world of pain.

Also, if you notice your headlights flickering, you will need to get a capacitor, so your battery isn’t taxed that much.

This Rockville woofer is quite popular. I’ve installed it for the following rides: Nissan Sentra, Mustang, 325 BMW, S10 Pickup, Honda Accord, Jeep Wrangler and Mini Countryman, and they were all happy campers.

Nowadays, cars have less and less space, so no wonder this shallow mount is so popular. In fact, it’s so hot that it’s flying off the shelves, so if you happen to find it in stock, order immediately, or you will be left out.

Pros:

The sleeper sub that can beat two 12” kickers without breaking a sweat or the bank

It’s a budget bass package that behaves like a champ

The bass hits hard and deep, just like the doctor ordered

Cons:

Minimum requirements 320 Amp alternator

You will need a capacitor, so you don’t tax the battery

#6 Rockville W10K6D2 – Best Rockville 10 Inch Sub

Psst, do you want to have a bit of fun with your girlfriend at her expense? Install these subs, and you can mess her hair up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

If you’re a fan of real bass, look no further; this 10” Rockville woofer rated at 500 Watts RMS is the perfect choice for you. Also, it can give a very, very good back massage, especially on long trips.

My suggestion would be to have a two weak break in the period after that you can go very low with it. Normally 35hz is quite doable, and with the perfect SPL box, you can go as low as 28hz.

This baby packs a punch. It almost reaches competition level gear without the sky-high prices.

Here’s why it’s a must buy subwoofer:

Recommended for Bass Heads: if you enjoy flexing the roof and enjoying long-lasting, deep bass and a powerful punch, this is for you

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing: After breaking it in, people won’t believe you that it’s just a 10” sub it’s more like two 15” in the trunk

Hard to Believe Price: I don’t know how Rockville does this, but their prices are a steal. You can’t go any lower than this and still enjoy quality

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:

Now, this is one power-hungry beast. Don’t take the 500 Watts RMS lightly. You will have to have the necessary equipment.

This sub is heavy expect some sweat when you’re installing. As a matter of fact, it’s heavy at all the right places.

This sub delivers big time, so my happy customers have installed it in: Dodge Ram, Silverado, Jeep Wrangler, Infinity Fx35 and Bronco.

This is a great sub for your ride, so make sure you get it as soon as possible because other people are eyeing it as well, and the stocks are limited. If you don’t want to wait weeks until they get fully stocked, grab it while they are still available.

Pros:

Approved for bass heads

It has deep bass and a powerful punch

It’s a great way to mess up your girlfriend’s hair

Cons:

This is a power-hungry sub beware

It’s a heavy unit

Conclusions

We have reached the end of this best RockVille subwoofer review. By now, you should know which one of these woofers is the best fit for your ride.

As you have seen, there are two main categories, normal and enclosed subs, and I’ve picked the very best in the most popular sizes. Rockville is known to be a budget brand, and they didn’t compromise on the quality. The bass, of course, is strong and punchy, just as the doctor ordered.

Quite a few subs on the list have beaten Kicker subs by a wide margin, so no matter which one you choose, it will give you an amazing experience.

Lastly, the stocks are low. So make sure you buy it instantly before they run out or you risk waiting for weeks.

If you have questions or tips, feel free to reach out to me.
